FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The City of Fort Pierre is getting some more temporary help in the city office from someone across the river in Pierre. Mayor Gloria Hansen says the city has reached an agreement with Pierre’s former Finance Officer Twila Hoffrogge…
Hoffrogge departed from the City of Pierre in early 2024. Former Fort Pierre Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen left for a position with the Associated School Boards of South Dakota in May, leaving Fort Pierre without a regular full-time finance official. Heezen has been working on Fort Pierre’s financial situation at her availability since then. Hoffrogge will find a similar place in Fort Pierre…
The agreement has a “not to exceed” clause in it because professional services agreements and contracts have a 50-thousand dollar limit. The Fort Pierre City Council not only approved the agreement with Hoffrogge, but approved the hire of a water/wastewater operator and administrative assistant. Currently Fort Pierre has only one full-time front office staff member. City office were closed Friday so that person could use a vacation day.
