Pierre Post 8 13U team is set to begin its state tournament run in Brookings on Friday as the Eights are one of the best teams in the tournament this year.
Pierre went 29-4 during the regular season and one point won 12 straight games and comes into the tournament having won eight straight games. The Eights will be in a pool with Renner, Dakota Valley and Watertown as the tournament consists of three four team pools as the top two pool winners will be the top two seeds and will need to just win twice on Sunday to win the title, the remaining four teams making Sunday will have to win three times to win the title. During the regular season, Pierre swept Renner 12-1 and 15-0 and split with Watertown winning 4-1 and losing 6-5. The Eights did not see Dakota Valley throughout the summer. Miles Doyle, the head coach of the 13U team says he knows all three teams are going to bring the top of their game which the Eights will need to as well…
