The Oahe Zap had to deal with a weather delay, and a ninth inning comeback bid by the Casper Spuds to hold on for the 7-5 win to split the four game series with the Spuds at home.
The two teams traded runs in the first four and a half innings to be 2-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth. Mason Lang would come up with the biggest hit of the game, a bases clearing three run double to give the Zap the lead 5-2 which they wouldn’t relinquish. Oahe added another two runs on a dropped third strike resulting in a run scoring before an error to score two runs on the play and make it a 7-2 lead for Oahe. But in the top of the ninth, Stone Vacek would also clear the bases on a three run double to pull Casper to 7-5 and had the tying man at the plate but Hudson Ivey would get his man to fly out to end the ball game preserve the win for the Zap. Lang finished with four RBIs in the game as Vince Polizzi also drove in a run.
Oahe is now 20-21 on the season and will have the day off on Wednesday before hosting the Fremont Moo for a three game series Wednesday through Friday. First pitch for all three games will be at 6:05.
