PIerre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The Commission will consider approval of a brief two-item consent calendar containing only the usual claims and minutes of previous meetings for approval. Commissioners will get an update on progress with the Missouri River bridge from the South Dakota Department of Transportation and will consider requests from the Pierre Area Chamber in regard to the Junior World Bass Championship to be held July 29th to August 1st in Steamboat Park. The Commission will give first reading to an update of the building code ordinance and a bond resolution for a sales tax resolution for the Landfill Cell Four project. Also on the agenda for the Pierre City Commission is the annual review of the state’s open meeting laws brochure. That requirement is part of a new state law, Senate Bill 74, passed earlier this year. The meeting will with Commissioners presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
