The 2025 MLB Draft is Sunday and Monday this coming weekend and a former Pierre Trapper will most likely be drafted, which would be the second Trapper ever to be drafted.
Cooper McMurray looks to join 2020 Trapper teammate Tavian Josenberger as the second Pierre Trapper to be drafted the big leagues. Josenberger was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2023 draft out of the University of Arkansas. McMurray, who hit 10 home runs and 31 RBIs hitting .355 in 34 games for the Trappers, has been a power threat for the Auburn Tigers for the last three seasons after playing for Kansas in 2022. McMurray hit .326 this spring for the Tigers dropping 14 home runs and had 59 RBIs along with 19 doubles slugging .588. He hit 14 home runs each of the three seasons. While not being from Pierre, McMurray could be the third player in the third different league with some Pierre ties to be drafted in 2025.
The MLB Draft starts on Sunday and continues into Monday.
