The Oahe Zap played one lone game against the Hastings Sodbusters on Monday and fell to the top team in the Independence League 11-2.
Oahe jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run in the second and third as Aiden Johnson led off the second inning with a solo shot. Then Gavin Fraser stole third and scored on the error from the catcher to make it 2-0. The lead would stand until the fifth when Hastings put up three runs to take the lead and hold on to it adding another two runs in the sixth and then six runs in the seventh. Brock Cross hit a three run homer to give the Sodbusters the advantage in the fifth. Ryan Jarvis and Jaden Shabry each had two RBIs in the win. Hastings improves to the league best 13-4 while Oahe is now 5-14.
The Zap are off until Friday when the Casper Spuds come to town for a four game series. First pitch on Friday is at 6:05 from Hyde Stadium.
