PIERRE, (KCCR) — Another former state employee is facing charges filed by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office for alleged crimes involving her employment. Attorney General Marty Jackley says 24 year-old Alexandra Feiner of Pierre is facing four charges for allegedly falsifying her own medical marijuana card while employed at the South Dakota Department of Health. Feiner is charged with one misdemeanor; Falsification of Public Records by a Public Officer and four felonies. The felonies include Forgery, Offering a False or Forged Instrument for Filing, Registering or Recording and Possession of a Forged Instrument. The maximum possible penalty for the crimes charged is 10 years in prison, if convicted. Jackley says Feiner was able to avoid both the medical provider certification requirement and fee associated through the alleged falsification of the medical marijuana card. The alleged crime was only recently discovered, having taken place in March of this year. Jackley says Feiner is charged with using per position of trust in the Department of Health for her own benefit and that the conduct reflects poorly on hard working state employees.
