The Pierre Governor softball team will be at home one final time this season as they host the Tea Area Titans this afternoon, weather pending in the final week of the regular season.
What was supposed to be played on Tuesday, will now be played early in the afternoon today due in part of the rain and weather forecasts over the last couple of days. The Govs have fallen to the 16th seed, but are mostly secured in making the SoDak 16 next week. Pierre is 3-15 on the season and have lost 10 straight since beating Aberdeen Central back on Tuesday, April 29. Tea Area comes in to the week at 4-8 on the season and has not played in 12 days after having the Spearfish, Stevens weekend be canceled. The Governors will travel to face Harrisburg on Thursday to wrap up the regular season. For seniors Gretchen Jungwirth, Noel Kist, Ireland Templeton, Elly Broers and Amber Roman, it will be the final time at home in their high school career.
JV will play first at 10:30 with the varsity game to follow at Riggs High School Softball Field.
