
PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre woman involved in a drug distribution conspiracy has been sentenced for her involvement with numerous others from the Pierre area. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says U-S District Judge Eric Schulte has sentenced 38 year-old Heather Stahlhoefer to 18 years in federal prison for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. In addition to the 18 years, Stahlhoefer will serve five years of supervised release and pay a one-thousand dollar fine and special assessment tot he Federal Crime Victims Fund. Ramsdell says Stahlhoefer and her co-defendant Misty Stahlhoefer would received up to a pound of methamphetamine per trip and supply others in the Pierre area for the distribution of the drug. Four others were sentenced earlier this month in the case and Misty Stahlhoefer is set to be sentenced in July. Between 10-thousand and 30-thousand kilograms of meth was distributed including 550 grams of pure methamphetamine found during a traffic stop involving Heather Stahlhofer. Stahlhoefer was taken by the U-S Marshal Service to begin serving her sentence.
