The Pierre Governor tennis team had a tumultuous 9 days from Monday, May 5 to Tuesday, May 13 with three days of duals and three days of tournaments. Now, the Govs set their sights on the Class A state tournament beginning in Sioux Falls today.
Pierre finished the year 9-13 in duals, placed second in their home invite with six different Class A teams participating and then ninth in the ESD tournament with only Huron being a conference team in Class A. Now, the year comes down to the final two days as the Govs look for a strong finish and high place in the state tournament. But having the two tournaments right before the state tournament is a good preview for the guys, especially those who are playing varsity for the first time this year.
