PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. City officials will start by presenting updates to the Council before getting into the main agenda. The Oath of Office will be given to three Council members starting new terms tonight. Callie Iverson was the only Council member who had an election. Todd Bernhard and Greg Kenzy were unopposed. The Council will also consider other reorganizational matters like reappointments to key city staff positions and election of new leadership. The Council will consider approval of a legal services agreement and renewal of malt beverage and South Dakota farm wine licenses. Council members will consider hiring summer staff and accepting a resignation and advertising for a replacement. Other agenda items include consideration of two abatements, a sewer issue, a pay application for the Cold Storage Building and a pay app for work on Dupree Trail. The Council will also consider renewal of two medical cannabis licenses and the acceptance of an engineering agreement for Ninth Avenue. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at six-pm.
