The Mitchell Kernels were able to get its revenge from earlier in the season beating the Pierre Governors in the consolation semifinal on Friday 48-38.
Pierre led after the first quarter but trailed at the break 23-20. Mitchell outscored the Govs in each quarter of the second half and Pierre did not make a field goal in the fourth quarter and only scored on free throws. Mitchell used its presence inside with 22 points in the paint while the Govs had just eight. Addie Siemsen had the game high 17 points for the Kernels while Londyn Hajek had 14 while Emery Larson had the team high 12 for Pierre and Gracelyn Taylor finishing with 11. The Govs shot just 25% from the field while Mitchell was 41%.
Pierre falls to 13-10 on the season and will finish the season today against the Jefferson Cavaliers in the seventh place game. Tip off is at 1:00 Central Time on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Dylan Simmons on the call.
