PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Department of Transportation will hold public informational meetings next week in preparation for the Euclid Avenue Reconstruction project. In addition to D-O-T, officials from the City of Pierre and Morris Incorporated will also be a part of the meetings. The meetings will discuss construction timelines for the work and traffic changes. The meetings are being held in the lower level meeting area of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at the corner of Euclid and Broadway in Pierre. Three meetings will take place. One for emergency services personnel at five pm. The second is for the general public at six pm and the third is for local businesses which will be held at seven pm. A website has been established to provide updates on the two-year project. That website is d-o-t-dot-s-d-dot-gov-slash-euclid. The first year of the project will be from Sioux Avenue to Broadway Avenue with the year two going from Broadway to the beginning of the divided section of Highway. Detours will take traffic up Garfield Avenue and overwidth traffic will be directed over the Oahe Dam through Fort Pierre.
