PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is holding it’s first meeting of April tonight. A update on the 2026 Go Green and Clean program will take place during special business. Commissioners will consider approval of a six-item consent calendar. The calendar includes approval of meeting minutes and claims and seasonal new hires for the Park, Recreation and Outdoor Pool and the hiring of a new manager for Central South Dakota Communications. Two public hearings are on the agenda for 5:45 pm. The first is for a lease agreement with Down’s Marina while the second is for second reading for a rezoning ordinance in the Greeley and Sharps Addition. The Commission will also get an update on the bid timeline for the Airport Parallel Taxiway C project. In New Business, Commissioners will consider approval of a union agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union and will consider revisions to personnel policy. The meeting will end with Commissioners presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm at the Pierre Municipal Building.
