PIERRE, (KCCR) — A number of primaries have been established at the county level across central South Dakota. Pending additions to the South Dakota Secretary of State’s candidate list there will be no primary for Hughes County Commission. Connie Hohn and Bill Abernathy submitted petitions March 27th and will join Rob Fines as incumbents with no challengers for the Commission seats they hold. Darby Nutter has created a second County Commission in Stanley County. Nutter, from District Three will challenge Dana Iverson. The other primary is in District five with incumbent Gary Grittner being challenged by Chris Carter. Patricia Duffy has filed petitions for Register of Deeds in Stanley County. Stanley County will have a primary for Sheriff with Greg Swanson, Gary Nickerson and Dustin Baxter. There are three primaries in Tripp County. A primary for auditor is set up between Bard Desersa and Tanessa Collette. County Commission primaries will be held in Districts three and five. In District three it’s Mike Novotny vs Steve Novotny and District five has Micah Cook vs Cody Jorgensen.
