The Stanley County Buffaloes will begin its track and field season today traveling to Mitchell to compete at the Dakota Wesleyan High School Indoor Open.
Not every team in the state does it, but the Buffaloes are one of the team who compete at an indoor meet to start the season so other than bad weather to cancel the event because travel is impacted to get to the location, the weather does not play a part in the first meet of the season. The Buffaloes will get a chance to get some starting numbers on events and how they can progress as the season gets fully going. A total of 34 high school teams will be there to compete with Stanley County also seeing 13 other Class A teams in Mitchell. After today’s event, the Buffs will next compete in Pierre at the annual Bob Judson invite.
The field events begin at 11:30 with the track events starting at 12:00 at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex in Mitchell.
