PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is holding it’s final March meeting tonight. Commissioners will consider approval of a healthy 10-item consent calendar. In addition to the usual claims and meeting minute approval the calendar includes approval of seasonal hires for the street, water, cemetery, library, park and golf departments along with a volunteer firefighter application. In unfinished business, Commissioners will consider approval of a plat change in the Wal-Mart Addition and will hold a public hearing at 5:45 pm for a temporary alcohol license for the Pierre Area Chamber’s Sharpe Showdown fishing tournament in late April. Moving to new business, the Commission will consider various requests from the Pierre Chamber for the Sharpe Showdown event. Commissioners will consider approval of a software agreement with NinjaOne; an agreement with the Pierre Swim Team for the Aquatic Center and a request to surplus city property for the spring surplus sale. The Commission will also get an update on development in the downtown portion of Pierre. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm at the Pierre Municipal Building.
