Team South Dakota 16U girls would fall Saturday morning in the quarterfinals at the USA Hockey National Tournament as the Boston Jr. Eagles would storm out to a 7-1 win.
What ends up being the only loss of their tournament, Team South Dakota falls short of making Saturday night’s quarterfinals in the loss to the Eagles as Team SD went down early, just two and a half minutes into the first and trailed 2-0 at the end of the first period. Three second period goals made it 5-0 after two and the Eagles made it 6-0 before Sioux Falls’ Lucy Nelson made it a 6-1 game scoring the lone goal of the game for Team SD. South Dakota finishes 3-1 at the National Tournament and both Kallee Behm and Ava Lavinger of the Oahe Capitals had an assist each during the tournament.
For Behm and Elliot Bertsch, it wraps up two tournaments in two weeks and the three Capitals representing Team South Dakota
