Team South Dakota 16U girls would open up the USA Hockey National Tournament with a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Wednesday in St. Louis.

Watertown’s Emma Schleusner would make it 2-0 midway through the second and Honner made it 3-0 after two periods. Sioux Center’s Riya Brenner made it 4-0 late in the third period before Philadelphia picked up its lone goal seconds later to make it 4-1, but Brookings’ Avery Dentlinger would not allow another goal stopping 18 of 19 shots in the win for Team SD.
