PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Again a light agenda will greet the Commission starting with a four item consent calendar. The calendar includes approval of meetings from the March 17th meeting and claims along with a new hire for the street department and the setting of a public hearings date of April 7th at 5:45 pm for a lease agreement with Down’s Marina. From there, the meeting jumps right to new business. Commissioners will consider a request to bid for the airport parallel taxiway C project at Pierre Regional Airport. The Commission will also consider closeout of the waste water treatment plant redesign project. First reading will be given by the Commission for a rezoning request in the Greeley and Sharps Addition and a public hearing on that request will be set for April 7th. Commissioners will also give introduction to a plat change request in the Wal-Mart addition by Griese Properties L-L-C. The Commission will also have an update on Elizabeth Street, which has been the focus of weeks of public comment by residents of the Hill Historic District. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
