PIERRE, (KCCR) — More candidates are getting confirmed for appearing on this June’s primary election ballots. There will be at least one primary election for a Stanley County Commission seat. Chris Carter of Fort Pierre turned in petitions on March 18th to run for Stanley County Commission seat five and as such, sets up a challenge to incumbent Commissioner Gary Grittner. In Brule County, Darrell Miller has returned petitions to run for Sheriff while Sharmon Swanson and Greg Mairose have turned in petitions for Brule County Commission. Swanson for seat one as a Republican and Mairose for seat five as a Democrat. Pam Petrak has turned petitions for Brule County Auditor and Glenda Andera for Register of Deeds. In Lyman County, Steve Manger has taken out petitions to stay on as Sheriff and Tracy Brakke has turned in petitions for Register of Deeds. Jacob Knippling has submitted petitions to run for a seat on the Buffalo County Commission. In Ziebach County, two names have shown up for seeking at large county Commission chairs. They include Democrat Shane Farlee and Republican Tucker Stocklin.
