The Lyman Raiders would finish in sixth place on Saturday at the Class B state tournament with a 58-47 loss to the Bennett County Warriors in the consolation championship in Brookings.
The Warriors would open an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and add on to it to reach a 35-16 lead at the break. The deficit was too much to overcome even though the Raiders cut the final score to an 11 point margin outscoring Bennett County in third and fourth quarter. Lyman shot just 28% from the field in the game as the tough shooting afternoon contributed to the loss in the final game of the season. Jordyn Scott would lead Lyman tying for the game high 21 points while Mak Scott had a double-double 15 points and 11 rebounds. Peyson O’Neill also had the game high 21 points and also finished with a double-double pulling down 10 rebounds.
Lyman finishes the season at 22-4 and will only graduate Mak Scott from this year’s team.
