In a rematch from January, the Lyman Raiders will take on the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars in the first round of the Class B girls state tournament today in Brookings.
The Raiders won the game 44-35 in a low scoring game back on January 3 where the Raiders went to just 4-0 on the season at the time. Lyman heads into the state tournament at 21-2 while Corsica-Stickney now heads in at 14-5 as both teams are 8-2 in their last 10 games. After getting sixth last season, it’s the third straight trip for the Raiders and at the top seed, the sights are set for a state championship, but have to take it one game at a time. The Jaguars are returning to the state tournament for the first time since 2022 where they placed third. All of Lyman, Corsica and Stickney are looking for its first state championship in girls history.
The two teams will play the first game of the day in Brookings starting the Class B state tournament. Tip off is at 11:00 AM at the First Bank and Trust Arena.
