(Onida, SD) – The Sully Buttes Chargers went past the Pirates 68-32 Tuesday night to set themselves up for a chance at the SODAK 16 Friday against Faulkton Area.
The Chargers would start the game on first missing only two shots in the first quarters and covered five of five on threes in the first. The defense was no different. Forcing 22 turnovers, the Chargers took full advantage and had a 45-14 lead after one half of play. Sully Buttes outscored the Pirates in a running clock second half 23-18. Wesley Wittler scored 20 points to lead the way while Jett Yackley added 15 and Gavin Colson with 11.
The Chargers will host Friday’s game against Faulkton Area at 7 p.m. Sully Buttes did win the first meeting between the two teams, but this one has more on the line. Wyatt Burichka will have the call on Country 95.3 F.M. and online at Country 95.3 Sports on YouTube.
