(Roscoe, SD) – The Sully Buttes Chargers picked up a big win Friday night in Roscoe against the North Central Thunder 62-28 to finish the regular season 15-5. Sully Buttes with the win locked the number one seed for Region 6B and will host their first round game on Tuesday against the winer of Highmore-Harrold and Tiospaye Topa.
After a close first quarter which saw Sully Buttes up 12-10 after one; would see them run off in the second outscoring the Thunder 38-18 the rest of the way. The second half Sully Buttes outscored the Thunder 24-12. The Chargers ended up going 21-49 unofficially from the field and converted five threes on 22 attempts. Sully Buttes made 15-16 free throws going 15-15 after missing their first of the day.
Wesley Wittler led the scoring for Sully Buttes with 22 points on the night and would seal a double-double with 10 rebounds. Easton Moore scored 14 while Jett Yackley added 10 points in the night.
Sully Buttes 15-5 are the number one seed in Region 6B and will host the winner the Tiospaye Topa and Highmore-Harrold Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Onida. Country 95.3 will have the call on Country 95.3 F.M. and online at Country 95.3 Sports on YouTube.
