PIERRE, (KCCR) — So far three incumbent Stanley County Commissioner have returned petitions to run for their respective offices. The latest of those being Dana Iverson. His petitions were officially filed February 24th. Things are filling up in District 21 which includes Tripp County. Former Senator Erin Tobin of Winner has filed petitions to return to the Senate. The House in District 21 will have a Republican primary. Incumbents Jim Halvorson of Winner and Marty Overweg of New Holland have returned petitions along with challenger John Harter of Winner. A county commission primary is setting up Tripp County. Cody Jorgensen will face off against Micah Cook for Tripp County Commission seat number five. Both are registered as Republicans. Larry Wilcox has also turned in petitions for the Tripp County Commission for seat one. Greg Mairose has also filed petitions for a County Commission seat in Brule County. In Jackson County petitions have been turned to the South Dakota Secretary of State for Sheriff for Tucker Amiotte and Mitzi Mitchell for Register of Deeds.
