The Stanley County Buffalo wrestling teams will be on the mat starting today for the state wrestling tournament in Sioux Falls with a total of eight competing across the girls and boys Class B state tournaments.
For the girls, sophomore Timber Hanson in the 100 comes in getting third place in the region tournament at 15-1 in the regular season. Senior Londyn-Allen Hunsiker will compete for the final time as she was 18-7 in the regular season in the 105 and Gracie Rutherford, another sophomore, will compete in the 120. Rutherford had 23 wins in the regular season, the highest for any Lady Buff.
The Buffalo boys will see five compete at the state tournament starting at the 113 as eighth grader Jeff Knight heads in with a 24-11 record along with Witt Myers who is 20-4 in the 132. Landon Bame is the lone senior competing for the Buffs boys team in the 144. Freshman Sayth Cronin comes in with the most wins for the boys at 27 and Wyatt Schilling, a junior will be competing for the Buffs.
