In the final doubleheader of the season the Stanley County Buffaloes would split the games with the girls falling 53-52 while the boys would hang on for the win 62-58 against Little Wound.
The Lady Buffaloes game came down to the wire and Stanley County had a couple of shots in the final possession but just couldn’t find the bucket to get win in the final regular season game finishing the season at 1-19 heading into the playoffs. Stanley County was led by Addy Deal’s 21 points on the night while Kynzi Hall had eight. Stanley County went to the free throw line a lot in the game but finished at 15-38.
The Buffalo boys were in a tough battle with the Mustangs who are a high powered offense, but the Buff defense held them under 60 points as Stanley County moves to 17-2 on the season with the home game left on Monday against the Lyman Raiders to close the season. Stanley County looks for the win and to hold on to the top seed of Region 6A heading into the playoffs.
Stanley County boys will tip off against the Lyman Raiders around 8:00 Monday night at the Parkview Auditorium for senior night. Stanley County Lady Buffs will travel to Miller in the 2-7 game of the Region 6A playoffs on Tuesday. Game time is still to be determined.
