The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes would keep the North Central Thunder close on Tuesday night at home, but ultimately would end up falling 45-30 to the Thunder.
The Lady Buffs would climb back into the game in the third quarter after trailing by 13 at the half to trail by eight after three as Stanley County held North Central to just five points in the quarter and trailed 32-24. But the Thunder responded and held Stanley County to just six in the fourth to hold on for the win as North Central improves to 11-5 on the season while Stanley County falls to 1-17 on the year. Amree Vander Vorst would lead all scorers with 21 points on the night as she was the only Thunder in double figures with Ella Batie and Alaina Dosch each having nine. The Lady Buffs were led in scoring by Austyn Norman who had 11 for the night with nine coming from Kynzi Hall and seven from Addy Deal. Stanley County went 6-11 from the free throw line in the loss.
The Lady Buffaloes will be back on the court next Tuesday to take on the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers in a doubleheader. The Buffalo boys will be hosting Gettysburg on Saturday in its next game.
