The Pierre Governor basketball teams return to the court on Tuesday for the lone game of the week as the Governor boys are on the road to Huron while the girls will host the Tigers.
The Governor girls are 3-10 heading into tonight looking to stop a five game losing streak as they face the middle of the pack with Huron at 8-7 on the year and in 11th place in the AA standings. The Tigers have won the last three after losing three in a row and have won five of the last eight overall to be one game over .500. The Governors are coming off a really good near first half of basketball leading Tea by seven late in the half, but the Govs ended up dropping the game by 16 as the Govs have lost nine of the last 10. Pierre is currently in 14th in the AA standings.
The Governor boys will have a really tough task as the Huron Tigers host Pierre who are 11-4 and in third place in the AA standings. Blake Ellwein also made history the other night becoming Huron’s All-Time leading scoring, breaking his dad’s record set from 1991-94 of 1383 points. Huron has won five of the last six games overall while Pierre has dropped three straight and have lost four of the last five. Pierre is currently in 16th place in the AA standings.
Tip off of the boys game will be at 7:30 tonight the girls game tipping off at 7:00.
