The Pierre Governor boys basketball team has enjoyed three straight home games stretching over a week and a half, but tonight and Saturday will be in the Sioux Falls area to face Harrisburg and O’Gorman.
The Governors will get two teams over .500 this weekend after having won two of the last three beating Aberdeen Central at home on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Govs tonight at 7-3 on the year sitting in sixth place in the AA standings. Harrisburg has won four of the last five which includes a win over Brandon Valley 46-43 at home on January 13. The Govs dropped its game to the Lynx last Thursday.
On Saturday, the Govs face the 6-4 O’Gorman Knights who is coming in having won four of five as well after the win over Yankton 44-42 on Tuesday. O’Gorman also beat Aberdeen Central 64-38 back on January 20. The last two losses for the Knights have come against Roosevelt and Watertown, two of the best teams in AA sitting at number one and number four with a combined two losses. Both games will be tough environments to get wins but can be big momentum builders for the Govs.
Tip off tonight is at 7:00 in Harrisburg with a 3:00 tip off at O’Gorman on Saturday.
