The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes are into the win column picking up their first win of the season part of a doubleheader sweep for Stanley County over Crow Creek on Thursday. The girls would win 45-38 and the boys winning 81-45.
The Lady Buffs led after each quarter over Crow Creek on the way to the first win holding an 18-15 lead at the half and a narrow 32-28 lead after three quarters. Stanley County hit 6-7 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold on for the win as Kynzi Hall went 3-3 on her way to 10 points on the night while Addy Deal would have the game high 16 points for the Lady Buffs with another 11 from JoRayah Walker and eight from Austyn Norman including two big threes, one in the fourth quarter. Justine Dog Eagle had the team high 15 points for Crow Creek as they fall to 3-11. Stanley County improves to 1-14.
The Buffalo boys get right back into the win column after the loss on Tuesday. A 36 point win over the Chieftains with a running clock in the second half propels the Buffs to now 11-2 on the season while Crow Creek is at 3-11. Teegyn Breitag had 24 points to lead all scorers while Eddie Duffy had 19 as the Buffs did their damage in the first half to build a 17 point lead at the break.
Stanley County boys will be in Madison on Saturday for the Dakota State Classic as they are the final game of the night taking on Wolsey-Wessington with a scheduled 7:30 tip off. Games start at 9:00 in Madison with 90 minutes between tip off times.
