The Pierre Governor basketball teams will take on the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles tonight as the Governor boys will host the Golden Eagles and the girls will remain on the road.
The Governor girls will be playing its third straight road game in eight days and it will be another tough test tonight. The Golden Eagles are coming in at 8-3 and sitting in fourth place in the standings. The Golden Eagles have lost back-to-back games, but against two of the best teams in the state in O’Gorman and Brandon Valley. The Governors dropped a game to Brandon Valley last Thursday and will face O’Gorman at home on Friday. The Governors are coming in at 3-6 splitting last week’s games with a win at Douglas. Pierre will finally be able to return home on Friday to face OG.
The Governor boys will take on the Golden Eagles as Aberdeen Central is just 1-9 on the year beating only Sturgis to this point. Aberdeen has lost five straight are currently outside of the SoDak 16 if the season ended today. The Govs, though, don’t want to overlook them at 3-7 and sit in 15th place in the AA standings. It’s third straight home game for Pierre and fight for a 2-1 three game home stand before heading to Sioux Falls this weekend to face both Harrisburg and O’Gorman Friday and Saturday.
Both games tip off at 7:00 with the girls game on the road and the boys at home. Due to sickness, there will not be a broadcast on KCCR or on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
