FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre Chamber of Commerce is helping prepare for a special Independence Day holiday this year as America marks it’s 250th birthday. Fort Pierre will be hosting the Boots and Roots celebration to encompass all of the 250th celebrations around the 4th of July from July 1st to July 5th. One part of that celebration is a concert planned for the Fort Pierre Expo Center on July 3rd with country music star Wade Hayes.
Local performers K-C Hughes and the Wayward Travelers will kick off the night at seven pm. Tickets are 30-dollars at the door and children under 14 years of age are free to attend. Hayes became prominent on the country music scene in the mid-90’s with hits like “Old Enough To Know Better”, “Don’t Stop” and “On A Good Night”. Hayes has released seven albums with the most recent in 2016.
