The Oahe Capitals girls and boys varsity teams would fall on Sunday to the Sioux Falls Flyers as the girls would fall 4-2 and the boys would lost to West 8-1.
The Lady Caps in the morning would take a 2-1 lead after two periods as both Dakota McEntaffer and Mallory Lehrkamp would score sending the Caps into the locker room with a lot of momentum, but the pendulum would swing back to the Flyers in the third on a short handed goal from Ragyn Peska before former Cap Raegan Pfeifer would get the go ahead goal put the Flyers up for good and finish off with Peska’s second goal in the final seconds as the Flyers move to 12-1 on the season while the Caps would fall to 10-4 splitting the weekend games. Taylah Allerdings made 34 saves on 38 shots.
In the boys game, Logan Anderson answered the first goal of the game by Sioux Falls West in just over a minute to tie the game at 1-1 early on in the first, but the Flyers took over from there. Carson Edwards would score four goals in total as Beckett Halde also added another two in the win as the Caps finish the weekend at 2-1 and move to 9-6 overall after the three games this weekend as the Flyers improve to 9-3 overall.
The Capital boys will be off next weekend while the Lady Caps will travel for three games against Mitchell on Friday at 6:00 and then at 5:00 and 12:00 Saturday and Sunday against Sioux Center. All three games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports
