(Colman, SD) – Sully Buttes boys basketball returns to the court on Saturday in what will be their second of a five-game road stretch on the season. The Chargers will head to Colman-Egan to play out of state opponent Hills-Beaver Creek out of Minnesota. Tip-off for Saturday is set for 4:30 p.m.
The Chargers are going through a tough stretch of basketball sitting at 7-2 on the season after a loss 56-51 to Timber Lake on Tuesday. Sully Buttes have gone 2-2 in the last four games. It’s not going to bet any easier either.
Their opponent is the 2025 Class Nine-Player champions from this past football season and are a top team in the 1A Classification. Entering Saturday at currently 12-0 and currently rank fifth in the polls in the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Rankings. They take on the number two team in their division Southwest Minnesota Christian Friday.
No history has been recorded for the Chargers and Patriots. They will meet in what appears to be the first time ever in Colman on Saturday. Sully Buttes will look to bounce back after a loss and will look to do so in a big way.
The Chargers have done well when they have scored over 60 points this season sitting with a 7-0 record when scoring 60 or more points. They are 1-2 when they have scored less than 60. Hills-Beaver Creek is a high scoring team. Scorings as much as 87 this season. They have only scored below 60 once up to this point in the season.
