This past weekend, Pierre Post 8 was honored to win the bid for the 2027 Class A State Senior Legion Tournament which will be held at Hyde Stadium at the end of July in 2027.
Post 8 last hosted the state tournament in the summer of 2018, a year after winning the state championship. The Eights returned to the state tournament last summer after missing the tournament the previous two seasons. The five day tournament will feature a guaranteed 14 games with a possible 15th game all historic Hyde Stadium. As the host team, Pierre will automatically be in the state tournament for 2027 and will play the final game of the first night, regardless of seeding. Rapid City Post 22 is hosting the state tournament this summer, before the Eights get to host next year.
