For the first time in 2026, the Oahe Lady Capitals will get on the ice after having two consecutive weekends off as they take on both Brookings and Watertown on the road.
The Caps have faced both teams previously this season with the Caps being 0-1 against Brookings in Brookings a couple of weeks ago. Friday’s contest is a major one as the Caps are just one loss behind the Rangers and four points back with a game in hand. Brookings is 10-1 with a loss to Sioux Falls while the Caps are 8-2 with losses to both Brookings and Sioux Falls. Rorii Quam has a 0.87 goals against average with four shutouts in 10 wins.
On Saturday, the Caps will look to sweep the Watertown Lakers with its lone road game. Oahe beat Watertown 6-2 and 2-1 in back-to-back weekends. The Lakers just ended a six game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Sioux Center last Sunday to improve to 5-7 on the year and are still in fourth place heading into the weekend. Watertown is led by Emma Schleusner’s eight goals.
