The Jones County Invitational Tournament begins today and the Stanley County Buffaloes will look to go back-to-back after winning last year’s tournament as they begin facing the Philip Scotties.
The Buffaloes have not seen six of the other seven teams in the tournament, but the one team they faced is the Philip Scotties. The Buffs ran past the Scotties 74-33 in the first home game of the year to improve to 3-0. Stanley County is now 6-0 to start the season while since the loss for Philip, the Scotties are 1-4 and 1-7 overall. Stanley County will face either White River or Bennett County on Friday with the bottom of the bracket featuring Kadoka vs. Lyman and Crazy Horse vs. Jones County. Last year the Buffs beat Kadoka Area in the championship game 60-52.
Tip off for today is scheduled for 1:00. You can see the full bracket below. It’s the first game of the day at the Harrold Thune Auditorium in Murdo.
