While not being the first home event of the season for Pierre wrestling tonight, the boys team will be making their home debut as both Tea and Watertown are in Pierre for a triangular.
The Governor girls remained unbeaten in duals at now 5-0 with a win over Harrisburg last Friday in the first home dual of the season with the boys still to make up the dual with the Tigers. Tonight, the girls will look to go to 7-0 facing Tea and Watertown in ESD matches. Watertown is coming in for its first dual of the season after competing in tournaments prior. The Titans are just 1-3 with losses to Mitchell and Brookings inside of the ESD. The Governors have one of those five wins over the Bobcats. Pierre will turn around and wrestle on Friday with the varsity heading to Harrisburg.
The Governor boys are looking to move to 6-0 as they come in at 4-0, last beating Yankton and Brookings in a triangular. Tea is at .500 at 5-5, but the Arrows are coming in undefeated at 6-0. Watertown has wins over Yankton, Mitchell and Tea in the ESD so far. The Arrows will look to go to 2-0 against Titans. It’s the first home matches of the season for the boys. They will travel to Mitchell on Saturday for a tournament.
The day begins at 4:00 at Riggs High School with a rolling schedule.
