(Highmore, SD) – Sully Buttes girls basketball returns to action on Friday against the Pirates of Highmore-Harrold. after a 44-33 loss on the road Tuesday evening against Ipswich. The Pirates enter 7-0 on the season after a win against Stanley County on Tuesday night 56-19.
The Chargers have/will face off against six of the top 38 teams currently in the Class B overall standings. Sully Buttes 1-6 going 1-2 in their last three games with two of them undefeated in Phillip and Ipswich. Their long win of the season was against Aberdeen Christian. Highmore-Harrold is currently 7-0 on the season sitting third in the Class B standings and sitting second behind Ipswich in Region 6B.
The Chargers will look to see more contributions in many ways. The defense was a highlight on Tuesday causing 16 turnovers for the Lady Tigers. Second chance buckets underneath the basket, and open mid-range shots were also shown on Tuesday night. Sully Buttes will look to see is again against Highmore-Harrold.
Sully Buttes will be looking to snap a two game losing streak against the Pirates with the last contest happening on January 10, 2025 where the Pirates won 50-34. The Chargers last win would happen in 2023 winning 65-28. The last four meeting, both teams have split with the Chargers winning the first two and Highmore-Harrold winning the last two. This decade, the Pirates are 5-2 against Sully Buttes.
