The Stanley County Buffaloes will get a test tonight as the two basketball teams will have the quick trip to face the Highmore-Harrold Pirates in a doubleheader.
The Lady Buffaloes will again look for its first win of the season and they face a team who has yet to lose in the Highmore-Harrold Pirates. The Pirates are 6-0 with its latest win over Wessington Springs 36-30 on Saturday. While being 6-0, the Pirates have struggled to score in the last two games scoring under 40 points, but they have held the two opponents to an average of 29 points. Highmore-Harrold is 12th best in Class B at points against as they sit in third place in all of Class B. Stanley County will look to get back to the offensive output they had in the games against White River and Winner scoring nearly 50 points each game.
For the Buffalo boys, they look to remain unbeaten after having four score double figures in the win on Friday over Herried/Selby Area. This matchup is the opposite of the girls where the Buffs are undefeated and the Pirates are winless. Stanley County sits in eighth place in the Class A standings and games against teams that are struggling to win become important to win with the limited seed points up for grabs against the Pirates. Highmore-Harrold is 0-4 so far on the year. Stanley County will also host McLaughlin on Thursday before getting ready for the Jones County Tournament next weekend.
Tip off of the girls game is at 6:30 tonight with the boys game to follow at the Hyde County Auditorium.
