The Stanley County Buffaloes had its first home doubleheader of the season on Thursday and the Lady Buffs would fall 60-15, but the boys would dominate the Scotties 74-33.
The Lady Buffs had its struggles offensively on Thursday as Stanley County was held to just four second half points as Philip started to run away with it in the third outscoring the Lady Buffs 21-2 taking a 28-11 halftime lead to 49-12 after three quarters. Drew Terkildsen dropped in 40 points to lead Philip as she had 19 points on six threes in the third quarter alone. Kynzi Hall had seven to lead Stanley County coming off the bench while Addy Deal, Lainie Masteller, JoRayah Walker and Jesse Fosheim each had two. Stanley County drops to 0-5.
The Buffalo boys remain unbeaten with a dominating 41 point win over the Scotties as the Buffs are now 3-0 on the year. Eddie Duffy and Paxton Deal again were brilliant for the Buffs as Duffy had the game high 20 points including four threes while Deal added in 16. Stanley County will head into 2026 without a loss on the record.
Stanley County will host Herried/Selby Area next on Friday, January 2. Tip off of the girls game will be around 6:30 with the boys game to follow.
