Teegyn Breitag would hit a shot as time expired to propel the Stanley County boys basketball team to a 52-50 win on the road in Winner as the girls would fall 59-45 Tuesday Night.
Starting with the girls game, Addy Deal would drop in a game high 31 points to lead Stanley County as the Lady Buffs tried to hang in as long as they could against a stout Winner squad. Kynzi Hall had five off the bench for the Lady Buffs as they fall to 0-4 on the season. Kylie Sachtjen would pace Winner with 23 points while Lilly Barfuss would have 19 as the Warriors win its first game of the season.
The boys contest would be close throughout the night but the Buffs came back from a 10 point halftime deficit. With nine seconds left Stanley County would inbound and find Eddie Duffy in the corner for a contested three which was missed, but the rebound was grabbed by Breitag and he his put back would drop in for two of his six points and to give the Buffs a massive win against a really good Warrior squad. Duffy still finished with a game high 23 points for the Buffaloes. Paxton Deal had 16 for the 2-0 Buffs.
Stanley County will be at home for its first home doubleheader, the boys first home game, on Thursday when the Buffs host the Philip Scotties. The girls will play around 6:30 with the boys to follow at the Parkview Auditorium in Fort Pierre.
