Both the Pierre Governor boys and girls wrestling teams will travel to Rapid City on Friday and Saturday this weekend to compete at the Rapid City Invite, one of the biggest tournaments of the year.
After both teams competed for the first time all season last weekend with the boys placing third in Mandan and the girls placing second in Watertown, the Governors will be in Rapid City this weekend to face stiff competition again. Besides the Mid-Dakota Monster and Bride of the Monster, the Rapid City Invite is one of the premier tournaments of the year in which the Governors compete. Teams from all over the state of South Dakota and teams from North Dakota and Wyoming all compete at the Monument in Rapid City. The Governor boys will get its first chance to see a little more of where they stack up with the rest of the state after seeing just two South Dakota teams in Mandan. Pierre will have its first duals of the season coming up next week against Aberdeen Central and Harrisburg.
The Rapid City Invite begins at 12:00 Central Time on Friday and then resumes at 9:00 AM on Saturday at the Summit Arena.
