Winter weather is already rearing its ugly head as the Sully Buttes Chargers has its first game of the season postponed due to winter weather around the Ipswich area.
The Chargers were scheduled to head to Ipswich on Tuesday but Ipswich called off school due to the winter weather and high winds. When school is called out, evening activities are canceled for the evening. However, the Chargers and Tigers will make up the game, but the date is not yet determined. This now moves the start of the Sully Buttes season back a couple of days, but the Chargers are now opening the season at home on Friday, taking on the North Central Thunder. Ipswich will have to go on the road to Tulare to face the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots to open the season Saturday afternoon. Sully Buttes will also host Lyman on Tuesday before traveling for its first road game next week Friday against Herreid/Selby Area.
Friday’s game will have tip off around 8:00 with coverage starting around 7:40 on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with Wyatt Burichka on the call.
