PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Winner man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison on child sex trafficking charges. U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says 67 year-old Richard Kucera was found guilty during a four-day trial in July on two counts of Sex Trafficking of a Child and two counts of Production of Child Pornograhy. He was sentenced in mid-October to 25 years in federal prison to be followed by five years of supervised release. A co-defendant in the case 37 year-old Ivy Heron of Winner was sentenced to seven years in federal prison on one count of Conspiracy to Engage in Sex Trafficking of a Child. She pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced in October. She will also serve five years of supervised release. Evidence presented during the trial connected Kucera and Heron to making payments to Winner area girls to engage in sexual activity. Heron was receive a fee for each girl recruited that Kucera would select. Two 16 year-old girls were then paid by Kucera to engage in sexual activity on multiple occasions. Kucera also created images and videos of the victims and posted them to social media. The activity began in 2019 and was discovered in 2022.
