The Pierre Governor gymnastics team would get right back to work on Saturday after competing for the first time on Thursday, this time at home in front of the fans. The Govs placed fifth as a team.
Pierre would score a total of 130.8 points, less than 10 points from reaching third place, while the Harrisburg Tigers would get a 137.125 to win the day over the Mitchell Kernels by nearly 3.5 points. The Governors were led by Rebecca Spitzer in the vault with a score of 8.325, on the beam at 8.75 and leading the Governors in the All-Around at 33.375. Jaelynn Muldoon would have the best score of the day at 9.2 on the floor which was good for fourth while Madelynn Merrill would beat 9.075 in eighth all in session two. Merrill also had the best score for Pierre at 8.35 in the bars. Spitzer’s 33.375 in the All-Around was good for fourth in the second session and being tenth overall between the two sessions.
