PIERRE, (KCCR) — South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden is joining his upper Midwestern colleagues in supporting the year-round use of E-15 ethanol fuel. In a letter sent to the Committee on Environment and Public Works, Rhoden and six other governors urged the group to support American farmers by ensuring the availability of nationwide, year-round E-15 fuel. Increasing the availability of E-15 would be made by way of the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act. That legislation at the federal level supports the increases of domestic biofuel production and utilization. Rhoden says that by ensuring nationwide year-round E-15 use, new markets for American farmers can be made, with American drivers benefiting by lower fuel prices. Rhoden notes it will also reduce America’s dependency on foreign energy. Joining Rhoden in support of the letter are Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, and Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.
