MILLER, (KCCR) — A Miller man has died in a two vehicle crash in Hand County. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened late Tuesday morning around 11:35 am at the intersection of North Broadway Avenue and 7th Street in the City of Miller. The Highway Patrol’s preliminary crash investigation indicates an 82 year-old man from Miller was driving a 2022 Ford Edge west on 7th Street and failed to fully stop at the stop sign at North Broadway Avenue. The Edge went through the intersection and was struck by a southbound 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck, driven by a 48 year-old man from Hetland. Seat belt use by both men is under investigation. The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver of the Ford sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family. North Broadway Avenue in Miller also carries South Dakota Highway 45 and U-S Highway 14.
